A specific goal is easy and simple to describe. When you set some goals for yourself, are they precise and specific. I want to be happy this is not specific. I want to live happily in Jeddah is specific. Your personal power must lies in clarity. A measurable goal is one that has a specific outcome means must be measurable in term of percentage, price, quality and etc. How will you know when youve achieved your goal? For example, the goal of saving 10,000 in a year, or make profit 30 % in sale is measurable. It can be easily measured after end of year. An attainable goal is one that allows you to stretch means that goal is possible, but is not impossible. Lets say you want to make a million pound. Great goal. But, if you are currently out of work or are not saving money, this goal is currently not achievable. A relevant goal is one that has meaning for you means that goal is meaningful for you. It is not just a good idea. It reflects who you are and what you value as a human being. Pick something that gives you joy. If you want to lose weight connect that desire to a larger intention. Living a healthy and fit life is the larger intention that makes the weight loss goal relevant. Choose things that are important to YOU and that make a difference in your life. A time-based goal is one that has an end date like I will make 10,000 profit in a year and give the date like December 31. Even if you dont know if you can accomplish your goal in the time youve set for yourself set a date anyway. The mind responds to specifics. Setting a date and creating a plan or path for the goal will notify your mind you mean business! Whistle Man Essay
Brian Ridden, is an entertaining book for teens that reflects the Australian identity In several ways. This is because It recaps real events, through the eyes of an ordinary orphan named Garret Clan. Garrett does this by revealing how the characters, setting and plot during the sass's In Australia, represents the Australian Identity. In this fabulous book, Ned Is shown as a hero due to Garrett, though It doesn't give enough evidence about the other side of him. Firstly, the characters exemplify what Australia was like back in the day, with its main focus Ewing on Ned Kelly.Ned Kelly who is the most likely story hero from Australia's history is known by Garrett to have many terrific values. This is shown in the book when Garrett quoted, ââ¬Å"Ned has a good heart as all he wants to do is to help the Irish poor. â⬠Although Whistle Man is really Garret's story. The two extreme ways of Kelly (the local murderer and the uncontrolled bush ranger), are the choices that also face Garr ett over the years as he grows to maturity. ââ¬Å"Should he work Joyfully to build his own farm and life, or should he follow in the footsteps of End's crusade? ââ¬Ë quoted on age 112.Secondly, the setting of this book Is In Victoria which was at a time when most of the Australian population lived In the farming towns and most people had an Irish background. This was quoted after Garrett was tired of doing chores and said ââ¬Å"Most of us are living on farms and are Irish-born, but no other people has to do as much work as what I have to do on the farmsâ⬠. The setting during the sass's in Australia was considerably different to what it is like now. This is because now when you look around the streets you see most people living in the city with a mix of diverse backgrounds.Though in sass's, all the people who you would see were ââ¬Å"whiteâ⬠Australians who lived in country towns. Thirdly, the plot demonstrates the Australian identity in a number of ways. Brian Riddle 's new story, Whistle Man, achieves this by highlighting the choices that shape a person's life. This is shown from Garrett Clan, who encounters Ned Kelly in 1874. ââ¬Å"Ned was four years older than me and was the tough bushman who I wanted to beâ⬠, said Garrett. Garrett, an orphan raised by an old family friend, worships the courteous and untroubled Ned. Ned, In return, helps find him work and his own horse. But he also tries to steer Garrett clear of the local land politics that would soon create a phenomenal bush ranging story. Lastly, Whistle Man is an excellent addition to the many stories about Ned Kelly and embodies the Australia identity through several themes. The first theme is to choose your own destinies in what you desirably believe in. This was shown as it presents Ned as a believable person, who despite what anyone else thought, was determined to help the Irish poor. This was also quoted by Garrett who said ââ¬Å"Ned is very determined to help the Irish poor an d I am going to help him achieve thisâ⬠.The second theme is that we must all make our own admiration but In return respect others. This was shown in the book after Garrett was about to leave and Magnums said ââ¬Å"l noticed before you didn't respect yourself so you disrespected others, but now you have found that respect In your heart and I am beginning to see the major transformation. â⬠To conclude, Whistle man Is an Incredible book that showcases the Australian identity through the characters. Setting, plot and themes. The reader sees the choices made that lead to some tragedies.

Pro-Slavery Argument
Pro-slavery The main issue in America politics during the years of the late 1840's to the late 1870's was slavery. Southerners wanted to keep the tradition of slave labor alive, and were Justifying slavery in any way possible; issue of slavery was a continuing debate in the 1800's. James Henry Hammond, John C. Calhoun, and William Joseph Harper were some of the men most famous for propagating the pro-slavery argument. Slavery was the economic foundation in the southern states during the 1800's.The efenders of slavery in the south had several arguments that they used to rationalize slavery. One argument was that ending slavery would destroy the economy in the south. Another pro-slavery argument was that slavery was a natural state of mankind since it has existed throughout history. The southern states to this day are the agricultural surplus for all of the United States crop production. For centuries, slaves were the most efficient and cheapest way to produce and harvest crops. The eco nomic and political advantages of slaves are what ultimately allowed southern itizens to survive. During the late 1830s through early 1860s, the pro-slavery argument was at its strongest (ââ¬Å"The Proslavery Argumentâ⬠). After the Civil War, freed slaves often returned back to plantations in search of money, because they did not have the resources to continue. If slavery was not abolished they would remain as property of the owner and would not have starved or been forced to work in low paying Jobs.Even though they did not have the best living and working conditions, they at least were given enough to survive. While I agree slavery is an ill moral, the concept of slavery is an economic plus. Furthermore in 1837, John C. Calhoun gave a speech promoting the ââ¬Å"positive goodâ⬠outcomes of slavery while also declaring slavery was ââ¬Å"instead of an evil, a good ââ¬â a positive goodâ⬠(ââ¬Å"The Pro-slavery Argumentâ⬠). Today, top nations exploit third wo rld countries resources and economic stability due to the fact they are unable function without exporting.Countries such as China, Taiwan, Thailand, and most countries in Africa, exploit children and women to roduce factory goods for little or no money. With that process occurring, China is expanding and will possibly become one of the next top super nations. Chinas explorations of its citizens allowed the countries expansions, which will ultimately develop the country Just like the United States. While Africa's resources, such as precious metals, are being metaphorically robbed by other nations. Countries will buy their resources for almost nothing, while they are being produced by low paying workers.Although the top nations have abolished slavery, they still manipulate the countries that use slavery. This process allows countries to outsource their money in return of large profits. ââ¬Å"Southern pro-slavery theorists asserted that slavery eliminated this problem by elevating all free people to the status of ââ¬Å"citizenâ⬠, and removing the landless poor (the ââ¬Å"mudsillâ⬠) from the political process entirely by means of enslavementâ⬠(ââ¬Å"The Pro-slavery Argumentâ⬠). The Math in the Game of Volleyball Essay - 2274 Words
Math in Volleyball Name Institution Math in Volleyball A good service in volleyball is important to a winning strategy. Either an effective serve will not be returned, leading to a point, or it will be returned with minimal strength, providing the serving team with the advantage. One aim of a good serve is to provide the receivers with little time as possible to react. Forces and angles are the two main factors at play when relating volleyball with math (PapageoÃârgiou Spitzley, 2003). In short, in order to relate volleyball with math, the force needed to make the ball move a certain height or distance, the angle required to make the ball over the net, and the arrangement of players, such that less players cover more ground need to beâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This is possible because a spinning ball follows a curved trajectory whereas a non-spinning ball does not. In the forthcoming models, x will be used to represent the horizontal distance the ball travels and y will denote the height of the ball. Therefore, the initial conditions of the server will be yo = h and xo = 0, where h represents the height from which the ball is served. ||vo|| will represent the initial hitting speed, and à ¸ will denote the initial angle relative to the ground. The angle Ã⢠will be the cross-court angle with respect to the sideline, such that a straight hit across the net has Ã⢠equivalent to 0. dT will form the total distance of flight and the distance to the net will be dN. The angular velocity of the ball will be represented by Ãâ°. Gravity Formulating the First Model The first model to be formulated assumes that only gravity affects the ball. From Newtonââ¬â¢s law, the magnitude of this force due to gravity is mg along the negative direction, where g is the acceleration due to gravity (g = 32.174 ft/sec2) and m is the mass of the ball (Lithio Webb, 2006). Since no force acts along the x-direction, the force equations become: Fx = 0 Fy = -mg Due to lack of a horizontal force acting on the ball, it will move with constant velocity in the x-direction just from the time it is hit until it lands.
